June is an active month for feast days in the Church. Today we celebrate the Feast of Corpus Christi, or Feast of the Body and Blood of Christ. Although technically a Holy Day of Obligation, this feast has been transferred to this Sunday, June 10. Next week on we will celebrate the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus as well as the Feast of the Immaculate Heart.

This month is also a month of great change for St. Peter’s. As we say goodbye to Father Anthony, we will be preparing to receive and welcome Father Daniel Liu. The timing of all of these things makes this a perfect opportunity to begin a community-wide novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. We invite everyone, members and friends of St. Peter’s, to begin the nine-day novena today, on the Feast of Corpus Christi, and end it next week on the Feast of the Sacred Heart. Let us pray for the well being of both Father Anthony and Father Daniel, as well as the well being of the entire St. Peter’s community.

Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

knock and it will be opened to you.”
Behold I knock, I seek and ask for the grace of…

Our Father…

Hail Mary…

Glory Be…

Sacred Heart of Jesus,
I place all my trust in you.

O my Jesus, you have said:
“Truly I say to you,
if you ask anything of the Father in my name,

Behold, in your name,
I ask the Father for the grace of…

Our Father…

Hail Mary…

Glory Be…

Sacred Heart of Jesus,
I place all my trust in you.

O my Jesus, you have said:
“Truly I say to you,
heaven and earth will pass away
but my words will not pass away.”
Encouraged by your infallible words
I now ask for the grace of…

Our Father…

Hail Mary…

Glory Be…

Sacred Heart of Jesus,
I place all my trust in you.

O Sacred Heart of Jesus,
for whom it is impossible not to have compassion on the afflicted,
have pity on us miserable sinners
and grant us the grace which we ask of you,
through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary,
your tender Mother and ours.

Hail, Holy Queen…

St. Joseph,
foster father of Jesus,
pray for us.
